Activities to make and do with your children
Write letters, numbers or shapes with chalk on any surface and have a cup of water and paintbrushes. Let your child trace over the chalk with the wet brush - erasing it and practicing the formation.
Drawing with toy cars. Strap a pencil to the back of the toy and let your child draw with the car.
Write numbers onto paper cups. Using tweezers, let your child pick up and place the correct amount of pom poms into the numbered cups.
Using the alphabet cards, lay a few cards out and let your child trace/draw the letters in the sensory trays. Use sand, flour, dish washing liquid, rice...
When learning about animals - let your child experiment with their footprints by dipping the plastic animals' feet into paint and walking across different surfaces.
Space themed sensory bin - dye rice black and add various space objects and numbered or lettered stars. You can roll up tinfoil balls for asteroids.

Using water beads, the colour flashcards and plastic cups, let your child sort the beads according to their colours.
Using mirrors, draw shapes, numbers and letters on the mirror and use glass beads, buttons or pom poms to place along the lines to practice formation.
